38 Weeks

38 Weeks

I went to the doctors this week. We are starting to go every week, which makes it feel real. But then again, when you only have 2 weeks, I sure hope that it is really real. At my appointment, Dr. Beverly asked how far along I think I am. I guessed, maybe  1 cm. Well, I am at 3 cm and 70% efface. I am not getting my hopes up too high, because I was like this for three weeks with Maggie. I am completely ready for you to come. Your baby blessing dress is finished (I am wanting to do the bonnet when you are born so I can measure it on you), I got white noise and a space heater. The freezer is pretty full. I guess I could add a few more things in the freezer and keep deep cleaning the house. So here's to a fast few weeks.

37 Weeks

37 Weeks

So I have had a few people ask me about birth plans. I had one with Maggie and everything went opposite of it, so I was really disappointed. With Sam, I didn't have one and I didn't have any expectations to disappoint, so it went well. Here is my birth plan for you: do not rip. That's it. Now here is my ideal, so please listen up because I really would love this. Your dad is coming off nights on Saturday the 4th, so he will come home at lunch time and take a big nap. Grandma flys in that afternoon, so me and the kids will pick her up. When we get back, I am wanting to start contractions, but just small ones. This will give Grandma time to settle in, we can help put the kids to bed, and then around 9, contractions will be close enough to go to the hospital. I don't want my water to break so that we can have a slow labor to I can all the antibiotics in for the group B and then you slowly make your way down and not rip. Then sometime early in the morning, you will be born. Your dad has Sunday off and most of Monday off, so he can enjoy the whole thing. I doubt it will naturally happen that way, I might just get induced, but if you want to naturally come on that time table, I would be so happy.

Well, you know how it is embarrassing to pee our pants? Well it is even worst when you don't realize that you peed your pants and you go to the hospital thinking your water broke. We went on our last family date before you are born. We took the kids to kangaroo zoo, a big warehouse filled with inflatable slides and bounce houses. Your dad and I were too big to go on anything, so I would sit on the edge so I could take photos and cheer on. Well, when Sam was going down the big slide, all of a sudden, I sat on something wet. I went to the bathroom and it was only wet on my bum part. After talking to your dad about it, he told him that I better go in (though I didn't want to). We went through the drive through at In-n-Out and your dad dropped me off at the hospital. I insisted that he stay with Maggie and Sam since it is probably nothing. Sure enough, i had just peed. I felt super embarrassed. It didn't help that all the nurses knew your dad and he had to go in that night. The nurses were all, "it happens to everyone." Let's just hope that it doesn't do it again.

35 Weeks

35 Weeks
Well, your dad finished the worst month of this whole residency and now it is mostly smooth sailing from here. Now that he isn't so busy, he is really excited to see you in a few weeks. Whenever he delivered a baby, he would think about you. Maggie and Sam were sick this weekend and their cough has lingered for every, it seems. I am hoping that all the sickness is over so they can be all healthy when you come.
